Simon
Chan, along with his family,
made the journey from Hong Kong in 1975. They settled in San
Francisco, California for a short time and then moved to Detroit,
Michigan. There Simon and his parents worked in a large Chinese
restaurant where Simon and his family gained the business
experience they needed to fulfill their dream of owning and
running their very own authentic Chinese restaurant.
In 1980, a friend in Atlanta called
and told the Chan family that China
Garden Restaurant was for sale.
Simon and his family bought the restaurant and were determined
to make it even more successful in the coming years. |
